I
was
born
in
a
seaside
town
and
have
lived
most
of
my
life
in
close
proximity
with
piers.
Sadly
this
one
has
almost
completely
disappeared
(see
below),
but
there
was
still
something
left
worth
photographing
when
I
was
in
Brighton
in
the
late
seventies.
The
once
elegant
and
fashionable
West
pier
is
now
little
more
than
a
memory
and a few twisted iron beams, home only to the starlings, pigeons and seagulls.
